Will customers see where I live?
No. You can save up to 3 private spots, like your home or where you store the van, and choose how far around each one you stay hidden (200, 400 or 800 metres). The app never shows you on the map while you're inside one, even mid shift. Your private spots are saved on your phone only and never uploaded.
Am I being tracked all the time?
No. You only show on the map while you're on shift, and when you tap End Shift your location is removed straight away. As a safety net, if you forget to end your shift and VendRoam stays out of sight for 30 minutes in a row, it ends for you, so you're never left showing on the map.
What if something goes wrong?
It's built to fail safe. If your location can't be hidden for any reason, your shift ends automatically. If the app can't read your private spots, it keeps you hidden until they're sorted. If your phone dies or the app closes mid shift, your shift ends on its own. Lose signal on your route and the app puts you back live as soon as it reconnects.
Who can see my location?
Anyone who has your barcode or share link can follow you and see your live location while you're on shift. That's how your regulars find you, the same as anyone could spot your van on the street. There's no public directory, so nobody can browse or search for you.
Can I see who my customers are or where they live?
No. You never see your followers' names, phones or locations. You only see how many followers you have. That protects them, and it means you're never holding anyone's personal details.
What do you store about me?
Your business details, your menu, and your contact info, which is whatever you choose to enter. Your location is only stored while you're live. There's no account or password. Your phone is linked to your vendor, and a recovery code lets you move it to a new phone.
How do I pay, and do you see my card?
Your subscription goes through Google Play. We never see your card details. No commissions, no lock in, cancel any time.
Can I delete everything?
Yes. Settings, Danger Zone, Delete. It removes your vendor, menu and photos for good.
Does the vendor see my location?
No. Your location is never shown to the vendor or anyone else. Only the vendor ever shows on the map.
Then why does the app want my location?
To know when to ping you. The app saves your location when you follow a vendor, or when you tap "Ping me here", and only uses it to work out when that vendor is close. It doesn't follow you around in the background.
Do I need an account?
No. No sign up, no email, no password. Just scan the vendor's barcode.
Do you sell my data or show ads?
No. We don't sell your information or use it for advertising.
How do I stop it?
Unfollow a vendor and your location and ping details for that vendor are deleted. To remove everything at once, go to My Vendors, Settings, Danger Zone, Delete All My Data. You can also just turn off VendRoam's notifications.

Good to know.
Do my customers need to download an app?
Yes, the free VendRoam app from Google Play. Scanning your code takes them straight there, and once it's installed they're following you automatically. They never pay, and there's no account to make.
What about customers with iPhones?
The iPhone app is being built now. Until it's out, customers need an Android phone to follow you.
Do I have to keep the app open on shift?
Yes, keep it on screen while you work. Your screen stays on by itself during a shift, so there's nothing to do, and it locks normally when you end the shift. Popping into another app, like your card reader, is fine. Your shift only ends on its own if VendRoam is out of sight for 30 minutes in a row, in case you forgot to end it. Tap Start Shift and you're live again.
I'm parked in the same spot every week. Is it still worth it?
Yes. Tap Send Announcement when you open and every follower knows you're there, even if you never move.
Can new customers find me without my code?
No, on purpose. There's no directory, so you're never listed next to competitors. New followers come from your code, your link, and customers sharing them.
Will my followers get spammed?
No. Pings are capped: you choose the most each follower gets per shift. Announcements only go out when you send one. And followers can unfollow or turn off notifications any time.
